Brokerage
When a ship is taken on rent to complete a cargo, it is known as ship chartering. Just as people take an apartment or a car for rent, it begins with the ship owner and a second party entering into an agreement. In shipping parlance, this is known as a charter party.
With particular expertise in the round log sector, we are in contact with a range of ship owners and can assist in finding the right vessel, in the right location at a workable cost.
Brokerage expenses are normally borne by the ship owner, so there are no surprise costs to the charterer. Freight rates can typically be provided in lump sum or price per tonne basis.
